…Hon. Onifade Urges Osun People to Remain Vigilant and Refuse Suspicious Data Collection

In recent days, residents across Osun State have been confronted with a questionable form allegedly being distributed by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the guise of a “poverty alleviation scheme” from the federal government. This development is not only misleading but deeply troubling, as it raises serious concerns about the true intention behind such an exercise.

The form, which requests sensitive personal information including voter’s card details, National Identification Number (NIN), and bank account information, is being deceptively presented as a legitimate empowerment initiative. However, critical thinking exposes glaring inconsistencies. Since when did genuine empowerment programs require citizens to submit their voter’s card details? This alone should raise a red flag for every discerning individual.

Empowerment, in its true sense, is meant to uplift people not to harvest their personal data under suspicious circumstances. Government-backed initiatives are usually well-publicized through official channels, with clear guidelines and transparency. What we are witnessing here is the exact opposite: a covert operation lacking credibility, clarity, and accountability.

The insistence on collecting voter’s card information suggests a more sinister motive. It points toward a calculated attempt to manipulate electoral data and possibly compromise the integrity of future elections. This is not empowerment, it is exploitation.

The people of Osun State must therefore remain vigilant. No one should be deceived into filling out such forms or surrendering sensitive information to unauthorized individuals or groups. The consequences of such actions could extend far beyond personal risk, potentially undermining the democratic process itself.

It is important to emphasize that any genuine effort to empower citizens would not hinge on political affiliation or require electoral identification as a condition. True empowerment is inclusive, transparent, and free from ulterior motives.

This is a call to action for all residents: do not fill any suspicious form, do not submit your voter’s card details, and do not fall victim to this apparent scam. Share this information widely and educate others, especially those who may be vulnerable to such deception.

Osun has come too far to allow its people to be misled or manipulated. Vigilance is not just necessary, it is urgent.
