By Comrade James Onifade
Congratulations to the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, our very own “Mr. Bulldozer,” on his re-election.
This victory is more than a political achievement. It is a renewed vote of confidence from the people of Osun. By returning Governor Adeleke to office, the electorate has spoken clearly about the direction they want the state to take and the leadership they believe can deliver it.
Governor Adeleke’s administration has continued to make its presence felt across the state, particularly through road construction, infrastructure development, and various initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people. His supporters believe these efforts contributed significantly to this renewed mandate.
However, this victory is not solely about the candidate. It is also about the determined electorate who stood their ground and defended their votes throughout the electoral process. Despite the tension and challenges that characterized the election, many voters remained resolute. They cast their ballots and stayed committed to ensuring that their choices counted.
Their courage is a reminder that democracy is not only about voting. It is also about protecting the sanctity of the vote and ensuring that the will of the people is respected.
To the people of Osun who came out to vote, remained vigilant, and defended their mandate: this victory is yours as much as it is the governor’s. You have demonstrated that the power of democracy ultimately rests with the people.
The significance of this renewed mandate was further underscored by the grand reception of the Certificate of Return at the INEC office in Osogbo. The presentation of the certificate formally seals the outcome of the election and marks another important milestone in Governor Adeleke’s political journey. With the Certificate of Return now received, it is a done deal. The people have spoken, the mandate has been affirmed, and there is no better time than now to get back to work.
Governor Adeleke now has another opportunity to build on his achievements and do even more for the people of Osun. A renewed mandate comes with renewed responsibility, and the expectations of the people are understandably higher.
The celebrations may continue, but the real work must begin immediately. Osun cannot afford unnecessary delays. Roads, infrastructure, economic opportunities, healthcare, education, and other critical areas must receive renewed focus. The second term should be about consolidating the gains already made, correcting areas that need improvement, and delivering even more tangible development to the people.
This is not the time to rest on the laurels of victory. It is time to hit the ground running.
The people have spoken. The mandate has been renewed. The Certificate of Return has been received. The result is now a done deal. What remains is governance, delivery, and service to the people of Osun.
May the next chapter bring greater development, prosperity, unity, and progress to Osun State.
Osun expects more “bulldozing” achievements.
Signed:
