Comrade James Onifade has urged all political party agents participating in Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to pay close attention to the ballot papers delivered to their respective polling units.

The call follows the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reproduce ballot papers to include the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, in compliance with a court order. INEC said the reproduced ballot papers would arrive in Osun on Thursday, 13 August 2026.

Onifade said party agents must carefully inspect the ballot papers presented at their polling units and ensure that the SDP is properly included.

He stressed that where ballot papers delivered to a polling unit do not contain the SDP, party agents should immediately raise the issue with the appropriate INEC officials and insist that the affected materials be returned and replaced with the correct ballot papers.

According to him, this is necessary to prevent confusion, protect the integrity of the election, and ensure that every political party duly listed on the ballot is given a fair opportunity to participate.

He also advised party agents not to assume that all electoral materials are correct simply because they were delivered by officials. He urged them to check the ballot papers carefully before voting begins.

He further called on voters to remain alert and report any irregularities through the appropriate channels, stressing that the outcome of the election must reflect the genuine choice of the people of Osun State.

Signed:
Comrade James Onifade
Advocate for Good Governance and Judicial Reform
