Amid the excruciating economic hardship confronting millions of Nigerians, Hon. Toyin Anibire Adams, popularly known as Obailukan, Founder and Convener of the Obailukan Support Strategic Group for Atiku, has declared that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar remains the only credible, reliable and prepared candidate capable of righting the wrongs and rescuing Nigeria from its current economic quagmire.
The statement, which was officially released today by Comrade James Onifade, Media Executive to Hon. Toyin Anibire Adams (Obailukan), said Nigerians must stop allowing blind political loyalty to silence the truth about hunger, inflation and daily suffering, stressing that patriotism demands truth, not sycophancy, and that the welfare of the people must take precedence over partisan interests.
According to the statement, beyond political affiliations, it is time to call a spade a spade: “If those in government are truly performing, Nigerians would have no reason to deny them their flowers. But the realities on the ground contradict official claims. There was a time when ₦5,000 could feed a household for days; today, ₦20,000 disappears within hours at the market without covering a full shopping list. The purchasing power of Nigerians has collapsed. Workers, traders, artisans, students, and families are all groaning under the weight of poor economic choices. These are not political talking points but the daily lived experiences of people struggling to feed their families, pay bills, and commute to work. Good governance is not about speeches and statistics; it is about whether the common man can afford food, pay house rent, access healthcare, and live with dignity.”
Obailukan declared that of all political figures today, only Atiku Abubakar has the experience, capacity, economic understanding and national acceptability to reverse the hardship and restore hope: “Every Nigerian has the right to support any candidate, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. But if we are honest about rescuing this country, Atiku stands out as the only credible and reliable alternative. He is not a stranger to governance – a successful businessman, an experienced administrator, a detribalised Nigerian, and a leader who understands the economy. His blueprint focuses on economic recovery, job creation, national unity, restructuring for efficiency, and targeted support for the poor, unlike the current trial-and-error approach that has deepened poverty. Supporting Atiku is not about sentiment; it is about competence, credibility, and compassion.”
He warned that political support must never mean abandoning independent thought and that blind loyalty that defends failure does a disservice to democracy: “If a government is performing well, we will commend it; if it is failing, we must say so. Hunger does not know APC, PDP, or ADC. The market woman struggling to make a profit, the civil servant whose salary no longer lasts until month-end, and the youth without a job all face the same hardship beyond party politics. Political power is temporary; governments will change, and leaders will leave office, but Nigeria will remain, and citizens will live with the consequences of today’s decisions. That is why we must not sacrifice our collective future on the altar of loyalty. The 2027 decision is about our survival, about choosing who can truly fix Nigeria. For us in the Obailukan Support Strategic Group, that man is Atiku Abubakar – the only candidate who can right the wrongs, revive the economy, and give Nigerians a new lease of life. Nigeria belongs to all of us, and Atiku is the rescue Nigeria needs.”
