…Calls for unreserved apology forthwith
The Osogbo Accord Media Force (OAMF) views with serious concern and outright condemnation the continued interference and provocative actions of the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, in the affairs of Osogbo Federal Constituency.
It is regrettable that a Speaker who ought to exemplify leadership, maturity, and focus has instead chosen to abandon his primary responsibility to the people of Odo-Otin Constituency. Rather than delivering meaningful development and effective representation to his own people, Hon. Egbedun has found it convenient to meddle in territories where he has no electoral mandate. This is a clear case of political trespass that can not and will not be tolerated.
The speaker attended the stakeholders’ meeting of Osogbo held yesterday. At the meeting, he made unacceptable and weighty utterances, condemning the political influence of some leaders and openly insulting respected party leaders in Osogbo. We will not condone such behavior.
The Speaker was clearly attempting to market his colleague, Hon. Bamidele, in a manner that suggested imposition and dictatorship. This is totally rejected. No individual or group can impose candidates on the people of Osogbo Federal Constituency. We value respect, dignity, and due process. Our leaders understand the best mechanisms for selecting credible leaders and the right candidates for the task ahead.
We are not imposing anyone; we are simply working to unite our people for the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke, whose performance remains the rallying point for progress in Osun State.
The Message is Loud and Clear
Stay in your lane, Mr. Speaker. Osogbo is not Odo-Otin. You may make whatever utterances you like within your own state constituency, but you must exercise restraint and decorum when in Osogbo Federal Constituency. We deeply value and respect our leaders here; if you do not, then kindly accord the same respect to yours.
Being Speaker of the House does not confer the right to be everywhere or to interfere in local government, and federal constituency matters outside one’s jurisdiction. The speaker should focus on effectively serving the people of Odo-Otin who elected him. We demand that you tender an unreserved apology for your recent conduct and utterances in our domain.
OAMF will never tolerate this level of overreach. Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election is a settled project backed by performance and the goodwill of the people. No amount of interference, grandstanding, or insults from any quarter will derail it.
We urge all well-meaning stakeholders to join hands in this mission of continuity and consolidation.
Signed: Osogbo Accord Media Force (OAMF)
