The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Osun State Chapter has issued a clarion call to all party members, stakeholders, and allied partners to unite behind a singular objective: ensuring the successful re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term.
At the State Executive Committee meeting held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, party leadership passed resolutions that underscore the critical importance of cohesion, strategic coordination, and unwavering commitment to the gubernatorial election scheduled for August 8, 2026.
The establishment of the IMOLE ACTION COMMITTEE represents a watershed moment in the party’s organizational strategy. This ten-member committee, comprising representatives from both PDP and ACCORD leadership, is tasked with a pivotal mandate: to harmonize efforts across all wards, local governments, and the state level.
This is not merely a symbolic gesture. The committee’s terms of reference are concrete and action-oriented:
The first priority is proposing a comprehensive framework for harmonization of PDP and ACCORD at all administrative levels. Despite the technical distinctions that define party structures, the political reality is clear, PDP members remain PDP members, while ACCORD maintains its separate identity. Yet Governor Adeleke’s vision transcends these organizational boundaries. The governor and his cabinet, supported by key stakeholders from both parties, have demonstrated that effective governance requires working hand in hand.
No Room for Distraction
The second resolution passed by the State Executive Committee sends an unmistakable message to all party members: all personal and individual aspirations must be shelved until after August 8, 2026.
This is not a limitation but a liberation. By focusing exclusively on the gubernatorial election, the party creates the optimal political environment for success. The resolution makes clear that any aspiration other than “IMOLE LEEKAN SI”, the clarion call for Governor Adeleke’s return is not only illegitimate at this time but may attract sanctions against those who pursue them.
This approach is strategic and necessary. The political landscape will be clearer after August 8th. Once the governor’s second term is secured, space will naturally open for other aspirations to emerge and be pursued according to each individual’s scope and the broader political terrain. But that time is not now.
The Call to Action
Party members and stakeholders must understand what is being asked of them: commitment. Absolute, unwavering commitment to this single objective.
The recent publication by the State Working Committee of the PDP should be embraced by every intending aspirant and every party faithful. This is not a request; it is an expectation.
Every PDP member, every ACCORD partner, every stakeholder who believes in good governance must actively work to support Governor Adeleke’s re-election.
The stakes could not be higher. The success of the governor’s second term is not an isolated political event, it is the foundation upon which all other legitimate aspirations depend. Without it, there is no platform from which others can build, no stable government to support broader political projects, and no secure future for party members who have invested in this vision.
Moving From Words to Action
The IMOLE ACTION COMMITTEE must move swiftly. The electoral timetable for the gubernatorial campaign must be finalized without delay. The pre-unveiling tour of local governments must be planned and executed with precision.
Every recommendation that emerges from the committee’s deliberations must be translated into concrete action on the ground.
This is the moment for party members to demonstrate their mettle. Campaign activities must commence immediately. Grassroots mobilization must begin now. Town halls, community engagements, and direct voter contact should start without further delay. The momentum must build from this moment forward.
A Message of Hope
To PDP members and ACCORD partners: this memorandum is a message of hope. It tells you that your party leadership has a plan. It tells you that unity is not just rhetoric but an organized strategic imperative. It tells you that August 8, 2026, is not merely a date on the calendar but a destination toward which we are all traveling together.
There should be no difference in approach, no distinction in effort, between PDP members and ACCORD partners in this endeavor. Governor Ademola Adeleke leads all of us, and his vision encompasses everyone committed to good governance and development.
The time for contemplation is past. The time for action is now.
