There have been reports that some Osun residents were seen receiving ₦10,000 and allegedly taking an oath to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Osun governorship election.

The APC should go and rest. Enough of the drift, propaganda, and desperation. The people of Osun State are not unaware of the political games being played ahead of the election. Voters deserve facts, not sensational claims designed to create fear, confusion, or distrust.

The Accord Party and its supporters should not be dragged into baseless allegations. Nobody in the party would support or encourage such an act. Political competition should be based on ideas, records, and the choice of the people — not fabricated narratives.

Osun people are watching. They know the difference between genuine concerns and political propaganda. The focus should be on issues that affect their lives and on allowing voters to freely exercise their democratic rights.

Rather than constantly manufacturing narratives around the election, political parties should focus on convincing voters through their programmes and records.

Osun voters are watching. They know the issues affecting their communities. They understand the choices before them, and they have the democratic right to decide who deserves their votes.

No amount of propaganda can permanently substitute for credibility. No political narrative can take away the people’s right to make their own choice.

The APC should therefore stop the distractions and allow the people of Osun State to exercise their democratic rights peacefully and freely.

Signed:
Comrade James Onifade
Advocate for Good Governance and Judicial Reform
