…OSCSMC says Osun residents already know the party lacks direction and public trust ahead of 2026
The Osun State Civil Society Matters Committee of the Imole Campaign Council (OSCSMC) says the recent statement by Hon. Lawal Azeez Olayemi, former Commissioner for Youth and Sports under Gov. Gboyega Oyetola exposes the deep crisis tearing the Osun APC apart.
Hon. Lawal admitted he can not stand before the people to campaign for AMBO because he lacks conviction in him. According to OSCSMC, that admission confirms what Osun residents already see: an APC without direction, unity, credibility, or a clear plan for the state.
“It matters when senior APC figures openly expose the decay, bitterness, and confusion in their own party,” OSCSMC stated. “These are not opposition claims. These are insider accounts from people who know how the party operates.”
The committee commended Hon. Lawal for speaking honestly and helping the public see the level of distrust and disunity within the APC ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
“The way APC members attack and undermine each other shows how they would treat Osun people if given power again,” OSCSMC warned.
“No one willingly returns to suffering after experiencing relief and progress. Osun people have seen the difference between yesterday and today. The APC represents the Egypt we’ve left behind — and no one is going back.”
The committee said Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration has delivered people-focused governance, infrastructure renewal, workers’ welfare, and responsive leadership that directly impacts communities across Osun.
“Propaganda and sponsored attacks cannot erase visible progress or trick the people into returning to a divided, confused opposition,” the statement added.
OSCSMC called on residents — youths, women, civil servants, artisans, market leaders, and students to come out on Saturday, August 15, 2026, and vote massively for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election to sustain stability and development in the state.
